I feel pretty bad for Kurogh. While I’m very much aware that he is an ass, I think the thing he wanted most was for his father to notice him. I can sympathize, as my father and I have a close relationship, and if my father rejected me I would be crushed. While the things Kurogh did were less then good, I feel like he faced a lot of disappointment and anger in his early years, thus making him the way he is currently. Kurogh is not a good person, no, but Maeldun wasn’t exactly a saint either.

OOC : There is the possibility to sympathize with him, seeing as he did just want his father’s approval and to feel significant amongst a very, very large family. However at the core, Kurogh was born selfish and arrogant, having a neglectful father just didn’t help, and eventually was the thing that brought the downfall of Kurosia.

Becoming King and having a Seuth for a son still didn’t satisfy Kurogh’s need to feel important. He never got his father’s approval, yet when Malefor came and ‘approved’ of him, that was where Kurogh lost himself in blind joy. Malefor was worshipped as a God among the Kuros, and Malefor strung Kurogh along thinking he favored him. Father figure + a God? Bonus for Kurogh x,D It’s what made him so easily toss aside Voteil, which if you look at it, he did the same thing his own father did to him. Maeldun sure helped make the worst Kuros there was x,D
