OOC : Portal Masters are almost God-like in how revered and respected they are, as like purple dragons they can control every element. They also have a powerful, natural skill in magic, control portals to see vast distances and teleport beings from one place to another, travel to alternate dimensions (depending on talent and skill), and even bring life to once inanimate objects.
For Weirdlanders, it is thought that humans are the only ones able to be portal masters, thought not every human was. In the earliest years of Skylands, humans were rising up in power. Causing wars, destruction both good and bad, and taring up Skylands. The Kurosian Gods took it upon themselves to eradicate the human race from Skylands as they were too unstable and dangerous, which is why there are so few humans left. ((Post about it here))
