Please read this before you submit any artworks to the SkylandersArtContest.

To highlight some important areas in their terms of service:
“One (1) grand prize winner will have
their drawing included in the Skylanders 2016 game…”Meaning, your artwork will be published in the upcoming game, your character will not actually be made into a playable character. The advertising they use is pretty deceiving, but the winner will only have their artwork in the game along with winning a copy of the game.
“Sponsor shall have full right and power to copy, publish, broadcast, display, distribute, use,
edit, translate, alter, combine with other material, reuse and adapt any or all portions of the entries in
any way and for any purpose whatsoever, at any time, now or in the future, in any media now known or
hereafter devised throughout the world in any manner whatsoever and for any purpose. You hereby
grant to Sponsor a fully paid up, worldwide, perpetual license in any and all media for such use. Sponsor
reserves the right to amend and/or modify these rules in its sole discretion without notice to entrant.“
Or, in short, they reserve the rights to use and alter your submission however they see fit to their franchise and can do so without notifying you.
Also, please keep an eye on the #SkylandesrArtContest tags on Twitter and Instagram because some people are already starting to submit stolen artworks/characters and claiming them as their own.
Please be sure not to submit any characters or artworks that are near and dear to your heart, you will not keep those copyrights in the way that you may think. This contest is geared towards a younger audience and not meant for people to submit fully designed fan characters. I’m not saying to abolish this contest, I’m just warning you that there are some very clear-cut rules in what rights they will obtain from your submission.
