Yeah, I have to agree with you on this one. I mean 10 CHAPTERS in imaginators!? I swear Activision is getting real lazy and recycling most of their stuff….-.- They really need to get their act together.

I have no idea what goes into making these games, if the tight schedules hinder their ability to expand new ideas only so much or what. For all I know the fact they have to incorporate so many character models with maybe different hit boxes or something is such an issue they have to simplify things. I feel like, they ARE trying new things with each game, but it’s just in the ways that isn’t too pleasing for me personally. Also, keep in mind Activision is the game’s producer, Toys 4 Bob and Vicarious Visions actually make the games!

The new map idea was very cool and I did like it. But only a couple levels really stood out to me (aside from Crash’s level, they did an AMAZING job with that one!!!). And BOYO they made quite a few awesome looking Skylanders this round 😀 Still a lack of dragons *Squints* But the game felt VERY repetitive for me this go. The story is the worst part for me.

Superchargers’ gameplay wasn’t that great, I did like how they worked the car elements in but the thing that REALLY made me love the game was it’s story. It was so cinematic, and actually had some dark tones to it! The scene that will always stick with me is Glumshanks ‘almost death’. It was super impactful, granted it was ruined in the very next scene but I can’t really blame them for it. Clearly they couldn’t kill Glumshanks off (maybe if they had you play a level thinking he died and see Kaos’ reaction to possibly killing him would have fixed all that BUT I digress). Kaos actually had some character development for once! All to be tossed aside and turn him back to the usual Kaos from the first game.

This story felt so dry, so boring, and not once made me feel engaged enough to keep pushing through the levels. A lot of stuff felt like filler, the characters were mostly painful to endure unlike their show counterparts (Trigger Happy actually gave me a headache and I had to put the game down for a bit), but the only thing that kept me going back to play it was getting new Imaginator parts to make new skylanders.

I’m still not done with the game, but those are my thoughts for now. I think I’m on the last level, but jebus I just haven’t felt encouraged enough to finish it. Skyrim, Overwatch and Pokemon have me by the ovaries atm, but eventually I’ll finish it just to do it. I’ll just keep on with Weirdlanders and maybe incorporate a thing or two, just not that… lazy story -3-
