I cannot remember, are Kurosian dragons allowed to have bone coloured kuronium?

spookoofins:

Now that my browser isn’t having a giant hissy-fit, I can finally respond to this.

Kuronium is a little bit fickle in the case of the sub-types of coloration. Like Weird said, 80% of it is almost ALWAYS going to be some shade of silver. This is mainly a breed trait, something to make them ‘stand out’ as Kuros.

‘But Koof, Weird and even YOU have characters that have metallic-looking bones. Are they Kuros, too?’ Not necessarily. A while back Weird and I talked about how certain characters, such as Volga, do have metallic horns, but they are not made of Kuronium ˢᵒᵘʳᶜᵉ

Now that I’ve brushed on that, let’s talk about sub-types.

Sub-types of Kuronium, the way I’ve seen it done with fan-creations and Weird’s alike, usually reflect either the element or the species. For example, there are a couple of Brokt

ˢᵒᵘʳᶜᵉ OCs

ˢᵒᵘʳᶜᵉ who do have Kuronium bones that aren’t strictly silver, and this is to reflect their physical and elemental traits. This is done by myself with my own Brokt OCs mainly for this reason:

I took that a little literally, and rolled with it. Hence both Ifreann and Ciar have non-silver Kuronium horns, though their teeth, claws and skeletal systems ARE silver Kuronium. This itself is likely a birth-defect of sorts, though the color itself doesn’t really change the hardness of the bones themselves. In fact, if memory serves, Brokt horns are harder than the run-of-the-mill Kuronium bones. Hence why they’re so valued in the army.

Also, it should be noted that some of the Kuros with differently colored horns other than silver are hybrids. My OC Astraeus is a hybrid, for example, and while he has a weaker strain of Kuronium bones, they are closer to dark brown-grey.

So yes, you can have your Kuros and eat it too! Er I mean. You can have a Kuros with alt-colored horns/teeth etc! The only thing I feel like I should mention that’s going to conflict with the canon of the Kurosia universe is the whole ‘black boned’ thing. To quote Asiirha’s ref here:

weirdlanders:

No worries ahahhaa, Koof and I are still working on that archive of info on Kuros since everything is SUCH a mess 8,D I don’t blame peeps for forgetting and not being able to find answers.

Kuronium is commonly shades of silver. At least 80% of Kuros have some shade of silver, but it is possible for there to be different colored types.

Kuronium can mimic plenty of different metals like gold, copper, bismuth, etc. The different types of Kuronium are often in Kuros that have adapted to specific biomes within Kurosia.

~Weird Hyenas

This is a mutation that occurs once every millennia or so. Those born with black bones are poten users of Darkness, and Dark Magic comes as naturally to them as breathing. Normally it is marked by insanity.

So out of the 20% of Kuros with non-silver horns, the chances of another Kuros with black bones existing in the current timeline while Asiirha is alive is next to impossible. We love everyone’s creations and appreciate them, but the lore as it was established by Weird a while ago (before Asiirha was even made) is what we go by. You can still have those characters and make them, just realize that if your OC and Asiirha were alive at the same time, they would literally stop at nothing to kill each other. This again is part of the lore, but its part of the lore we haven’t really touched on.

Hopefully this will help some folks out designing their Kurobabs!
