HONESTLY THAT’D BE REALLY COOL but I think it’s mostly because they seriously needed to take a step back and refocus themselves after Imaginators. They were poopin out a game each year, granted between two studios Vicarious Visions (I love dem <3) and Toys for Bob, but honestly the quality was getting stale. I loved the idea of Imaginators and the new things they did kind of try (like the overworld was neat!), but I did NOT like that game. It felt more like a chore then something to enjoy and have fun, doing the same puzzles over and over in the same formula. I honestly enjoyed the show a thousand times more than the game.
Maybe I was burning out on Skylanders but either way, it was a VERY smart business choice to take an extra year off to develop their next game. I just hope it shows, they bring new life to it, etc. If they even beef it up more for the anniversary, that’d be awesome! I just kinda doubt that’s why they delayed because… they were making a game every year, they woulda had one out that year too.
