So, I’m not sure if this might have asked already, but about the Kurosian language. What kind of accent would it be spoken with? Cuz I wanna be a nerd and talk to myself in proper Kurosian with an accent that doesn’t offend Queenie XoD

I totally do too sometimes we’re all freakn nerds and I love it

There are dialects and accents in the Kurosian language so there isn’t just one way to say things or just one accent you can have. But specifically the Kuros of the main capital have a thick Irish/Scottish like accent. Usually the Kuros that don’t speak more than one language have such a thick accent it’s hard to understand them, like this. The language is mostly based on the Irish language, but when creating names/words I branch off to other cultures and languages. I’m no linguist, heck can’t even learn another language even when I tried, so a lot of it is usually spelled how it’s pronounced just to save confusion (er, most of the time lmao).

A lot of it is repetition, finding the flow of the words and repeating them until it’s smooth. The Kuros are used to non-dragons speaking their language, as Kurosian with more than just words. They can talk and growl at the same time, and they use their growls as a way to express tone and even punctuation. That is why there are deluded forms of Kurosian that other creatures call upon to cast dark magic spells. The ‘ in words and names are ways to indicate a dip in your voice or where a dragon would growl instead of spacing (it’s a lil hard to describe this ;laksdjf).

Pretty much, if you’re not a Kuros or a dragon the Queen will expect you not to be able to speak Kurosian properly. She’d probably be very confused if you could. But if you’re making an effort it means enough to her that you respect her. Havok would just be a dick and tease you as he can speak it fluently, he has an irish/Gaelic accent but it isn’t that thick unless he’s flirting.

I hope those paragraphs help! XuX’
