MOD: I actually talked about it here, but it’s a little bit outdated? SO I’ll try and keep it as short and sweet as possible!
Sail-Wings:
- Generally can’t fly for extended periods of time
- Good for quick flight periods, can go from walking/flying fairly quickly mainly through magical means. Also they tend to be a bit smaller so that they don’t break their wings, etc.
- Lack the pectoral muscles, and the genuine musculature that makes for long distance flying
- Your classic TLoS dragons
Wing-Caps:
- Wing Caps is a place-holder name really until I find a different one. Wing-Caps originally had pockets they could fold their wings into in their own bodies, but that didn’t make much sense. Now they can literally magic them away. Because dragons and magic.
- Have bigger, bulkier torsos, namely the pectoral muscles. Overall body shape is different to accommodate for this
- Take longer to get airborne; bigger wings means bigger dragons
- Built for long-distance flight, as in if they have enough supplies they could probably fly for days to weeks at a time. (Dunewyrms specifically.)
