Envii : RIP, TARE, LEAVE PEICES OR NOTHING AT ALL!
((OOC: Ah okay. What alphabet are they in?))
OOC : I actually haven’t sat down to design their language, but for some posts, I went quite random (except for the Yahvii post). When I first saw the runes used in Skylanders I, being one of those unfortunate souls who lost scores upon scores of hours to Skyrim, immediately thought of the dragon language from Skyrim.
So I based most of the Kurosian language, spells, or anything having to do with dark magic runes to the Dovahzul. This site has been helpful for when I want to make actual legit runes. Granted, I’m not using the exact runes for the words or letters, but the fundamentals of that language is what I’m basing my understandings on.
Personally, I’m like the WORST at other languages. I barely understand the fundamentals of my own xD I tried quite hard to learn other languages, including Spanish, German, and Japanese, but failed horribly.
How long does it take to create an art?
OOC : It depends on the subject matter 🙂 The doodles I do for this blog can take 2-4 hours if it’s a single panel, or one I can easily change expressions on. Unless they’re really detailed, then they take longer. But my fully rendered drawings can take well up to 14-22+ hours of work from sketch to finish. The art I do for this blog is to help me warm up for my commissions or when i want to take a break and work on fun stuff.
((OOC: In the Yahvii picture, what runes are written on the stone base?))
OOC : 😀 They spell out her name, Yahvii. The first rune stands for “Y”, the second “AH”, the third “V”, and the last rune is “ii”
My Queen, why were such abnormalities seen as holy?
Lost Queen : Well, almost all of our gods have extra limbs of some kind. So it’s seen as holy when a Kuros bares them.
Lost Queen, has there ever in the history of the Kuros been a dragon with multiple appendages? Ex. wings, arms/legs, tails, heads, etc.
Lost Queen : It’s very rare, but yes. Some dragons had two sets of wings, extra limbs, extra tails, and even more rare, multiple heads. Those with these abnormalities are actually considered holy and more often than not became high priests/priestesses.
Why does Hiss call them “Vultures” when most of them are animal mash-ups?
OOC : For a few reasons, actually. One is because all of her chimeras have bearded vulture heads (except for a rare few). Another is that to Hiss, “Vultures” sounds more intimidating than “Chimeras”.
Though the ‘behind the scenes’ reason is actually because of the song that inspired me to give Hiss vulture-like minions in the first place, “Here Come The Vultures” by Delain.
I still personally don’t think I’m that good with snarling faces, I have a lot of studying to do on that. BUT, this is pretty much my thought process on them! I hope this helps! If you need any other specific visual aides I’ll be happy to draw them 😀
Wolf, dog, or lion snarls are the kinds of references I go to. With the teeth, I’ll often draw the cheekbone, jaw and muzzle as bones before finalizing the sketch above it.
OOC : Sharing this here too!
