Weirdlanders

Hmmmmm good question actually! Hmm…

1. Swap Force – THIS really got me into Skylanders. ShaloneSK got me interested that I started working on some lore stuff while I played the first game, this one came out shortly after and laaaaaaaawd I had so much fun with it. My husband lists this one as his fav too, same reasons x,D

2. Superchargers – My faaaaaavorite storyline of any of them IMO. Gameplay was meh, copy and paste kind of stuff and I wasn’t that big of a fan of the cars aspect. But the story!!! Hnggg, it got dark and I loved it. AND Kaos actually showed development at the end ;u; My favorite scene out of any of the games is from this game; when Glumshanks freakn DIES! …. yeah yeah next scene he’s alive and fine BUT how that scene played was so dramatic both my husband and I looked at each other like ‘how is this in a kids game’ xD I just ignore every aspect of the cars and racing, good on them for giving Jack his own track but still, ignore. 

3. Trap Team – Had most of my favorite characters, both villain side and skylanders. AND had my favorite Kaos boss form. Hnggg those awesome wings ;u; I ended up giving him the ability to summon the black wings, which translates to his Kuros form 😀 

4. Skylanders – The first one! First one I played too. It surprised me so very much, I never thought I’d actually like Skylanders but I’m so glad I did give it a try. It didn’t blow us away or anything, but it was a lot more than what my husband or myself expected. We had a lot of fun playing it, and we found that we liked a lot of what we saw ;u;

5. Giants – Hate. I despise this one soooooo very much. The gameplay was copy paste (which yeah, happens again after Swap Force became a better staple and they slightly changed it each game), but it looked sooooooooooo ugly xnx. I couldn’t play it, so this is the only Skylanders game I haven’t beaten. Funnily enough, this game has my favorite Kaos model in it x,D at least, the one used in the cutscenes, I preferred him looking older >n>’

Before! 😀 Kaos frees the Queen shortly after Swap Force takes place. Then, for WL, there’s about a twenty year time gap until the events of Trap Team happens. Superchargers’ characters and locations are canon in WL lore, but the storyline doesn’t happen. Same with Imaginators. Skylanders kinda bumped back to being similar to the very first game storywise, and WL Skylands is still like, 30+ years older so it’s all difficult to connect up @_@’

Cynder : In this canon, is the daughter of the Lost Queen, a once proud Queen of all Kurosian dragons. However Malefor slaughtered the last city of the Kuros, except for Feuriah and Cynder who was an egg at the time, and was stolen by Malefor to become his puppet. the Queen is frozen in emerald for 100 years (a nod to the classic games ;D ), and Cynder’s egg is put under a spell to hatch later when she could be of use. She eventually hatches, becomes the black terror, but Spyro eventually frees her of his control. She joins the Skylanders to make up for the terror she caused, and eventually, Kaos frees Feuriah the Lost Queen. When she shows up, everyone notices how Feur and Cynder look similar, and in time the two finally meet. 

The Queen is beside herself with relief and sorrow at the same time, seeing that one of her kind not only survived, but it was also her daughter. Cynder doesn’t like that her mother is evil, but decides to leave the Skylanders to join her as Cynder had always wanted a mother but never knew her. 

Cynder uses her undead abilities to help her mother clear out the Kurosian castle from angry spirits of the dead, while also learning about her mother and her people. But Cynder can’t deny the good she feels, and when she learns about a devastating attack her mother was planning with Kaos, she has to make a choice to either stay quiet in order to stay with her mother, or to betray her and tell the Skylanders. Cynder decides to flee Kurosia and betray her mother, saving the Skylanders, but in turn is banished by her mother to never return to Kurosia. Marking her soul with a seal to block her entry. Cynder keeps her black and red scales, her birth colors that Malefor manipulated to make her purple, to prove that while she was a Kuros, she fought for good.

Many Skylanders still avoid her and don’t trust her, since her mother grows in power every year. Her and Spyro are friends, but their friendship becomes rocky after she left the Skylanders in the first place. He knows she still loves the Queen, as Cynder openly speaks up to remind the others her mother is not just a mindless monster, but needs help. Something Spyro cannot and will not accept, so the two argue constantly about it. 

Cynder eventually becomes mates with another dragon, Pop Thorn, as he happily accepts her and her bloodline, and understands Cynder’s desire to help her mother’s suffering. 

Spyro : Adopted by Eon as an egg, as Eon had stumbled across it by itself in a forest. I keep his canon very close to Skylander’s Academy depiction of him, only after he’s become a Skylander, he saves Cynder from Malefor’s control. Spyro gains a deep hatred for Kaos after the little human kills Eon, leaving him a body-less spirit. This hatred becomes stronger after Havok, Kaos and Feuriah’s firstborn, made his depute by murdering Gill Grunt, a close friend of Spyro’s. 

Spyro is seen as Eon’s right-hand dragon, and commands the Skylanders on Eon’s behalf. He hates the Lost Queen and will often try to fight to kill her in battle, finding it impossible for her to ever deserve redemption. Him and Cynder fight about this constantly, although he cares deeply for Cynder and would have come to love her if she had never met her mother. He wants her to see her mother for what she was; a murderous crazed monster, but she still fights him that she needs help. Because of this, their friendship is very rocky but they still work together to protect Skylands. He’s somewhat jealous of Pop Thorn, Cynder’s mate, but won’t treat him any differently for it. Spyro still wishes Cynder would return to her purple colors though, he dislikes that she continues to wear her Kurosian colors even though she’s on their side now.
