Kurogh felt that the reason the Kuros were dying out was because of the weak. Weak willed, weak minded. He thought Kurosia needed a new breed of leader, one like him, to lead them back to glory. He was one of the best Warlords in all of Kurosia, and many military leaders were the ones to become Kings. He just didn’t consider his own selfishness and need to have all the fame and admiration.
Feuriah put a huge wrench in that plan. She was his total opposite, wanting to follow in Athrenna’s footsteps. Kurogh was willing to forgo a lot of traditions and focus efforts more on wars, while Feuriah wanted to be more logical in finding out why the capital was the last known Kurosian city. She gave birth to a Seuth, and in her mind, was the key to the future of their people. Kurogh was almost convinced of this, but once more his own plans were interrupted.
When Malefor came in, everything changed. There were legends that spoke of a purple dragon born to Darkness coming to their aide and rekindling the Balance. Immediately, the Kuros bowed to him, Kurogh being the most glamoured by Malefor. When Malefor spoke of wars and taking over lands that never belonged to them, Feuriah knew something was wrong. Especially when Kurogh was blindingly on board with following Malefor’s every word. Malefor manipulated Kurogh and eagerly allowed him to use the Kurosian armies to his will, but once he caught wind of a rebellion, he started twisting Kurogh around his claws.
Malefor convinced Kurogh that his people needed a cleansing. He was able to make Kurogh despise Voteil for being a faulty or broken Seuth, and everyone who didn’t agree with them posed an even greater threat. By purging Kurosia of the weak willed, it would leave them with a pure Kurosian army to reclaim the mountains. History would shine on Kurogh’s name, his bloodline would be treasured for being the King that saved the Kuros.
Kurogh thought his plans were for his people, but his desires were, in truth, selfish.
