“No matter what happens, we’re all still Spyro…”

This was drawn before the Spyro Reignited Trilogy announcement.

Even with Classic Spyro getting his HD remasters, the other two Spyros are still there for their fans to enjoy. No matter what fans say, even with the popular (and annoying) fan opinion “That’s not the real Spyro!!!”, there ARE different Spyros that fans grew up with.

We should all accept that each Spyro is from a different universe and accept other people’s opinions peacefully on which Spyro they prefer.

I know that literal albino Kuros are impossible, but was there an equivalent to albinism?

I wouldn’t say albino Kuros are impossible juuuuuuuust yet, they only seem so for now. The scale color is akin to magic/darkness purposes, but a Kuros with albinism could still have symptoms of it. Such as sight issues, loss of pigment in feathers/fur/hair, changing the protection the scales can provide (making them susceptible to sunburn, granted the sun doesn’t shine much on Kurosia anyway, so it wouldn’t hurt them that bad. Just makes it difficult if they do have to fly in sunlight), etc.

I think, if anything, an albino hybrid Kuros could happen and they didn’t have much darkness within them to darken their scales. But a pure Kuros, not just yet i’m afraid.

Since Havok and Hysteria weren’t around when Cynder was banished, do they still consider her their sister? And what if Cynder had kids of her own, how’d they feel about them? Would they try to hurt them?

Havok and Hysteria have two very different outlooks on things, especially about family. Havok was born a few years after Cynder was banished, but still grew up in a very tough time. Feuriah was still much distraught about The Fall, Cynder’s banishment, and was still trying to figure out how to have a ‘relationship’ with Kaos. Easy to say, Havok had a very ‘chaotic’ childhood and saw aspects of his parents Hysteria did not. Hysteria was planned, and hatched when her parents were more put together (granted still not nearly as much as they are now, as when Hiss was 3 the events of Trap Team happened because Kaos tried to go back to how things were before he had a family).

With that, Havok is more sensible and careful about hurting his mother. He has a stronger sense of honor and loyalty, and knows his mother still considers Cynder her daughter; therefor, his sister. Personally, Havok doesn’t feel any connection to Cynder at all and doesn’t blink an eye when he has to fight her. He is, however, careful. Only because he knows if he truly hurt Cynder, it would hurt Feuriah. If they’re ever caught in battle, Havok will often try to hurt Cynder just enough to daze her, or harm her enough to stop her from fighting. He does this usually by knocking her out, hitting her wings just hard enough to make it hard for her to fly; that sort of things.

Cynder in turn, won’t try to kill Havok. She doesn’t feel a sibling connection to either Hov or Hiss, but again doesn’t want to bring Feuriah more agony by killing her new family. She’s fully aware, though, that Havok won’t kill her, so she tries to land as much damage on him to prevent him from hurting others. They don’t try to permanently harm or kill the other, out of respect and love for their mother.

Hysteria is a completely different case.

She cares enough for her parents, more than she realizes. She fancies herself a lone villain unless she’s enlisted to help her parents with something, and even then, she tends to favor her father over Feuriah. She doesn’t care about The Fall, and instead uses Kurosian magic only to strengthen the power she was born with. She’s perfectly okay with hurting Havok, which he’s aware of, but she doesn’t as it would just cause more trouble than it’s worth. Havok just has to stay on his toes with her to make sure she doesn’t manipulate him, but he’s more aware of her dangers than their own parents.

If Hiss had the chance to kill Cynder, she probably would, but would have to do it in a way so her mother isn’t aware that it was her doing. While it’s totally something she would do, there’s nothing really in it for her right now to go through all that effort, so she hasn’t. To her, Cynder is just another Skylander that’s only in danger if she’s in her way, which isn’t often yet since Hiss still primarily stays within Kurosia. She’s around 10 years old now, so that’ll be changing.

As for any children Cynder may have, safe to assume Havok would do the same he’s always had and just avoid them if he can. No killing, just some harm to keep them out of the way. Hysteria, same deal too. If they stayed out of her way, she only meddles with those that offer some benefit.

“gremlin spyro” jokes died years ago and if you still use them while actually finally getting what you want, you are an infant who cant handle change. finding joy in harassing people and poking fun at a character beloved by many (especially children) is not something to be proud of. cringe culture is dead.

MOD: I will readily admit that I was one of the ones who did not like Spyro’s design change for Skylanders and it took me A WHILE to actually like the franchise entirely. It just didn’t feel like a ‘Spyro game’ to me at the time.

But here’s the great thing about Spyro’s design and the games he’s been in. Spyro games follow a super simple formula for games: free roam platform exploration+adventure and you’re a purple dragon.

Spyro games have always been such a good and enjoyable experience, and regardless of whether or not you like the design change, with each generation this stuff will change. Yes it’s awesome to have classic Spyro back, but let’s not forget that Skylanders meant something to a new generation and helped bring a new wave of fans who will continue to contribute to the fandom in new and positive ways.

And for the record, I love Spyro’s designs. ALL of them. He’s all of our purple son, and we can’t pick favorites with our kids. ❤

Same.

I hated on Skylanders so freakn hard in the beginning. I was one of the first to actually draw hate art and gave permission for people to repost and spread it so Activision could see. I was awful, though I don’t recall ever personally attacking people for liking it. Still, I was venomous.

And I still kick myself so hard for it. I was so horribly immature, so childish, for all that. I got to know some of the fans, and gave in to try the game. Afterall, how could I truly hate a game without trying it? After trying it, I fell in love with Skylanders. The games were relaxing and fun, and something both my husband and I could play together and be idoits. Skylanders has faults, Activision is faaaaaar from a saint, but Skylanders truly does not deserve even the sliver of the amount of hate it gets.

Couldn’t have said it better. It’s very awesome to have the classic boy back, but all Spyros are good Spyros. Every Spyro means something to someone, and Skylanders introduced new players into our fandom.

Let’s all celebrate, and not spread hate. Don’t spoil the fun for everyone. Let’s all come together as SPYRO fans and enjoy the games that started it all, in a new light.

If I may make a small suggestion, since Nimsain’s breed is both poison and bug related, “Attercop” is an old English word for spider, directly translated to “Venom Head.” May be a good starting point.

*happy gasp*

My doods, thank you! I appreciate the suggestion! I’ve been struggling a lot just because all the translated words I normally mish-mash together, or irish/nordic mythology beasts haven’t been felt right. All the words rolled of the tongue too nicely, too smoothly. I wanted something uneasy and sharp, ending with an almost snap, but still have some meaning behind it.

I often forget to check other cultures and lore outside the celtic ones, and that suggestion is really awesome! If I end up messing around with it, I hope you’re comfortable enough to come forward so I can properly credit you! If not, thank you so much for your kind suggestion!

Finally got my Kuros bab done! I was a lazy shit when it came to submitting over on my dA, but ah well. But since the Brokt are my favorite of the Kuros so far, have Mongrel (or Mona, as she’s called by her charge, Maya). She.. doesn’t come from a happy background, but that’s all to be revealed soon enough. >D And yeah, some of her traits don’t make sense since she’s a heavy crossbreed, but she was made before the cross traits guide came out. :’D Plus some of it comes from… a lot of inbreeding, sadly.

Okee, so I’ve had this sitting in my invox for a wee bit, because I had so much I wanted to gush about this bab ;u;

I just LOVE how unique this gal looks! Such a strange one, but in the way that I just eat up! I can tell you put a lot of thought in her, and i just *love* the tail too! Mutations do happen and it’s really cool to see that on one! I can’t wait to see her background, visually it shows she has had one unhappy life and it makes me so interested to learn about what it is! Also gotta say, I love how striking her eyes are, and her teeth, I dunno why i just, love how that looks? It pleases me eyes? YEE!!!

Thank you so much for sharing this bab!!!

I decided to redraw my favorite character <333

OOOOOOH, I REMEMBER THIS ONE!!! I HAD IT AS MY DESKTOP FOR SO LONG!!!!!!!

Oh my lawd, my doods, that improvement! You’ve come a long way and it REALLY shows in this, I REALLY hope you’re as proud of this as I am amazed. The shading is absolutely beautiful, that landscape is detailed as all hecks, not to mention the ol’ Queeny! She looks so poised and regal, but I just gotta point out how AWESOME THE SCALEWORK IS??? I’m such a sucker for well done scales, and lawd, I LOVE what you’ve done with hers!

Thank you so very much!!!! I freakn love this so much, you’re such a good bean!
~Weird Hyenas

Tada! My very first KUROSIAN
(Well not the very first but the one that actually looked decent to me lol)

Weirdhyenas whatcha think?

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOH WHAT A BOOTYFUL LADY AAAH!!! Beautiful work like holy pooples, you have such a gorgeous style! ;3; I LURB HER! The feathery shapes at the tips of her wings, how her markings frame her face, my doods amazing job ;u;

~Weird Hyenas

How’s the Nimsain breed coming along?

Slowly, but surely! Her breed is going to have the most in-depth, detailed ref compared to the others (which, need to do one for EVERY breed). I had a lot of ideas with them so the ref is… big @n@’ but very happy with it so far, I think I just need to do busts to show how diverse the breed can appear, pick out a name for them, and bayum! Their lore is pretty much set too, I’m very excited to finally show them off!

If you ever come to my streams, I have worked on them quite often! I’m aiming to have it done by next month, it’s so cloooose ;u; but, here’s a wee preview anywhoo!
