This brute came to me in a dream and I had to do something with this design ;w; So I made a fankuros breed, hope that’s alright. This particular fella’s name is Reiztor Bhreon’vok (RISE-tor bray-on-vock)
Species: Fautok (lit. Giant) (FOW-tock)
Characteristics: The Fautok, as true to their name, absolute titans of dragons built for mining and living underground. They have sloping backs, low-hung heads, muscular bodies and tails that drag on the ground. The few who have seen them describe them as walking mountains. They are completely lacking in wings, with two armored spikes where their wings would have been. They have pointed tooth-like kuronium growths on the outside of their mouths as well as an impressive set of long razor-sharp teeth. Their mouths can open incredibly wide and their bites are deadly powerful; they have been known to chomp Uka clean in half with a single bite. They have keen night vision (everything they see is shades of green), so it’s almost impossible for an Uka to hypnotize them.
Society: Of all the Kuros breeds these dragons live the most apart from the society as a whole, preferring the solitude and darkness of the catacombs and mines beneath Kurosia to taking part in most ceremonies. They are so rarely seen or acknowledged that it’s entirely possible that the Kuros living above ground have completely forgotten about this breed, legends or otherwise. On top of that, the dialect they speak is so far removed from the common language that it’s barely Kurosian at all. When the Fautok speak, their dialect gives them a Spanish-sounding accent.
These dragons feed on cave-dwelling Uka, mushrooms, moss, and natural water reserves found in the deepest recesses of their mines.
What is known about them is that they are believed to be the offspring of the fire Olfur’Yekhshir Dóitanam, presumed to be the daughter of Wunjabrot, to bring the endless riches hidden deep within the caves and mines of the Kurosian mountains to distribute amongst the people.
Behavior
These Kuros are the most fearless of the breeds; not because they’re interested in battle or honor but because they are simply that apathetic. The Fautok are completely incapable of feeling or understanding fear. They could not possibly care less about anything. They see a wall, they literally walk right through it. They need to clear a forest for a farm, they simply push the tree over.
In contrast to this they are quite intuitive and can sense a person’s motives just by looking at them. One of them, Reiztor Bhreon’vok, immediately took a dislike to Kurogh after they found out he was king; not because he was selfish, but Reiztor just had a bad feeling about him. Of course Kurogh didn’t like this and tried to fire a Fear Arrow at him, but the attack literally bounced off Reiztor’s head with a helpless little ‘boink’ sound.
They are not indestructible however, as the space just below their throat is the most vulnerable part of them. Not only that, but if they get into deep water they will sink like a stone, as their bodies are just too heavy and their sheer mass makes it impossible for them to swim.
The Fautok are very aware of their apathy and as a result these dragons do not fraternize freely with the Kuros of the surface for several reasons: First off, they know full well they have an unfair physical advantage against all other Kuros, even Brokt. Because they are incapable of feeling fear, they don’t take part in the royal tournaments. Ever. They would win far too easily and lead their people into wars and for no other reason than because they can. Secondly, they view their existence as simply being ‘there’ and believe that the Kurosian people do not need them.
Abilities
In spite of being miners, the Fautok are often associated with the Fire element. These Kuros have the bizarre (and more than a little horrifying) ability to melt parts of their own skeleton into their gut and hack it up in molten form on top of their enemies. This odd power also leaves them with miraculously fast healing. This also makes it easier for Kurosian armor to be melted down and reworked, as sickening as it is.
They are also very capable fire elementals, as their breath is deadly hot and can reach hundreds of feet. When they so rarely surface to interact with their people, they are often put on the front lines of battle to act as the vanguard. Their borderline indestructibility, fearlessness and elemental power is perfect for such ventures.
When not engaged in battle, the Fautok usually take up blacksmithing, mining, construction, and clearing of land for farming.
The Fall of Kurosia
The Fautok had returned into hiding immediately after Malefor entered the city. Whilst not being having prophetic abilities of any sort, they were convinced that Feuriah was the foretold warrior of purple that would save their people. They sensed the Queen’s distrust and the rest of their people’s blind fascination and adoration of him, the Fautok knew there would be no changing their minds regarding this purple brute. Under the guise of returning to their homes underground to mine for more treasures, the Fautok left. Only a handful of other Kuros left with them, and there is no telling if they survived or not.
Neither Reiztor, the Fautok, or their fellow escapees were ever seen again; It’s entirely possible that they still remain hidden deep within the mines beneath the city, completely oblivious to the tragedy that befell the people above ground but it can’t be certain. Unless they are seen returning from their mines it’s safe to assume that only Queen Feuriah is left.
