Lost Queen : No need to really. We could only conceive during the mating seasons, and for those that didn’t want to participate there were designated retreats for both male and females to go to. Females had an arctic retreat, while males had the drier, canyon like parts of the Kurosian Mountains for seclusion as males tended to get more violent and aggressive. Females did too but not as drastically.

Lost Queen : Kurosian Blood is very, very potent with dark magics. It was used in many spells to amplify the power of the magics. I found it helped me strengthen my fury powers, and aided in controlling it. Not all red gems were bloodgems, I preferred them over petrified evil or other stones. Using one’s own blood for bloodgems was the best for amplifying your own powers, though it can benefit those of blood relation too.
Female Kuros and Hair/Fur
I apologize to the anon that asked about female kuros having hair or not, and while I was attempting to answer it on my phone (was getting my oil changed and TRIED to answer some asks but my phone was not having it). Somehow my phone ate the ask SO I APOLOGIZE. Answering it anywhoo 😀
The ask was pretty much asking about female Kuros being able to have hair like Kruta or Burdohk. The answer is, yes! They don’t have to be Fiosioc either, though Kurosian hair tends to have the texture of horse manes (even Havok’s is almost fur-like, as it raises and relaxes like the hackles of a wolf). They can have fur, hair, feathers, etc 🙂
Lost Queen : Oh no, it’s more often than not flown into, but there is a rocky base some use. Think of it like… entering a giant canyon, filled with a thick palpable mist. Kurosia is built on top of a jaggid, country sized mountain, near it’s peak there are few fields, though there is the Black Forest behind the castle that the Catacombs lead out into. On the outside, the Veil appears as a large cloud of black smoke behind a rocky gate like formation. I’ve never traveled the bottom of the crossing, but I’ve heard from some that it can be VERY unnerving, as not all those that make it are taken into Breithonakt’s body merge in whole; some parts still lie around.
Kurosian Fanbreed
Breed Name: Kurumvok (still unsure about this)
Description: Due to some odd quirk in genetics, these Kuros are born with Kuronium in some of their scales. This strengthens them and alters the color of the scales to match that of their bones. A Kurumvok with gold Kuronium may have gold stomach scales, or a golden tail, for example. These special scales never cover the body fully and are typically isolated to specific limbs or sections. Some have more than others, with some being heavily armored and others having only a few Kuronium scales dotting their bodies. Secondary colors are uncommon, but if their Kuronium is anything but Black or Grey than their scales will match. They almost always have wing blades, and blades on other parts of their bodies, such as their ankles or shoulders, can be common as well. While often smaller than a Brokt, they are a large breed.
Behavior: Kurumvok are not overly different from other Kuros in behavior, but some differences have been noticed. Perhaps due to their heavier scales Kurumvok tend to stay grounded more often than taking wing. They are not incapable of flight, and those who have air aligned elements are often incredibly capable fliers, but for the rest running and burrowing seems to suit them just fine.
Elements: Kurumvok can have any element a Kuros can have, but common ones seem to be Earth, Electricity, Metal, and Magnetism.

Hey. Thought I would show you that fan breed I was thinking of with the Kuronium scales. What do you think?
OOC: OOOOH, I REALLY LIKE THIS BREED. I love the in-depth thoughts you put into it, and that kuronium on the scales is clever! I’m diggin!

Ahaha i’m finally working up the courage to submit this to you! I was never really a fan of skylanders until i saw your “Lost Queen” saga. I guess i’m still more interested in the Kuros than anything. I just wanted to show you this Kuros i made. There’s a long story behind her but i’m not gonna post a text wall with it. Her name’s Duress. I hope you like her.

OOC : OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH THIS BAB, OOOOOO!
Aaaw I’m so deeply, DEEPLY honored that you made this bab, she’s so adorable, I LOVE the colors, and oh man I’m so interested to know about her! I hope you post her story, because I’d love to read it! Duress, yous are pretty thang you ❤
Thank you so VERY much!!! Beautiful Kurobab, and wonderful art style!

Breithonakt is a god living in the Veil of Darkness and he guards Kurosia from those that don´t have darkness in them. He was never seen but he is watching you while you are passing the Veil. He can be recognized by the sound of rattling bones which cover his whole body. I don´t know about you but I would feel VERY uncomfortable if I knew he is watching me from the distance XD
OOC : I’ll have you know I was attempting to sip on coffee while i was reading this. It was a horrible mistake. I don’t know what noise I made but there is now coffee on my lap.
*cackles* THIS IS AWESOME X,D SO WORTH THE COFFEE IN MY LAP
Where does a Kuros’ element come from? Is it your entire being or a special organ that generates the breath?
Lost Queen : Depends on the Kuros, honestly. Some had physical adaptions to aide their abilities while some worked from aura or magic. Take for example: Myself. My element is one that feeds off my emotions and aura, so I have little to no organs helping me to harness it. It’s all mentality. However Havok, I’ve noticed, has developed a thing most fire breathing dragons have; flame retardant mucus that lines his throat. When it comes to what creates that fire… I’m not all that sure, at least not for him.
I know I asked one question already during the last one, but I will put another in anyway in case that one was not usable Although I hope thats not the case, cause I really wanna see that question answered… Lets see, now… Why do Kurosians choose to be evil?
Lost Queen : Because we were born with a purpose, we were created to serve that purpose. And that purpose was to keep the crucial balance between good, and evil. There must always be evil, and there must always be good to combat it. We took pride in that purpose, it is a very important niche that we took. We provided Skylands with Dark Magic, spells for others to use, misfortune to remind others of their fortune. We were the ying to the yang, and again, we took pride in that.
Lost Queen, how was the Kurosian military organized? The various ranks in the army, types of soldiers, and battle strategies?
Lost Queen : The military was the finest in… well not to boast, but all of Skylands. It was what made us the most lethal. There were plenty of different factions, ranks, etc. consisting of specially trained soldiers, warlords, mages, archers, you name it. Training could take years to even become a soldier, and to be king or queen, you had to go through at least 50-80 years of military work, and decades before and during of going to special colleges. I spent my ENTIRE life preparing to be Queen, and I was very involved with military, serving in countless battles. I never became a Warlord, but I worked directly with the Queen during her final days.
To explain it a little more simply, the head of the military force was of course, the King and Queen. We spearheaded the battles, and we were the first to attack. Following us were the Silverwings; the fastest, most precise Kuros bathed in liquid Kuronium. After we would attack, often to surprise our enemy, the King and Queen would fly off to observe the battle but right behind us the Silverwings would attack fast. Furthering confusion. After them, that is when our Warlords (there were between 100-200 Warlords active at a time, and they would control their own generals, squads of soldiers, mages, etc).
The ONLY good thing about Kurogh was that he was an amazing war tactician. During his rule, we almost never lost a war or battle. He knew just when to attack, how to attack, everything. It’s a shame he was just a Tir’Ukak of a Kuros otherwise.
