Apple of His Eye – pages 1-5

Had a lot planned for this comic, now that I look back on it. This… could be a thing I could continue, but greyscale color things to help save on time. It was a fun idea of Cynder getting to meet her father, Kurogh. Doesn’t seem like I put in the bubbles for the second to last panel, a lot of stuff needed redo but at this stage in my comic process, it’s all stand in, clunky simple stuff I come back to in the final stages 🙂

One of the many references I’ve been meaning to do for a long time, and was actually able to do it. Athrenna is a character I hold very close, she symbolizes an emotional strength I wish I had, confidence and ability to succeed too. I cherish her so much, that I won’t even do nsfw content with her. Out of all my characters, she’s one of my top favorites ❤

I tweaked her design a little, and finally gave her a full backstory, which is on my Deviantart cuz THERE’S A LOT X,D There’s so many refs I need and want to do, but lawd these take a longass time to do X-X’’’

THIS WAS TIME CONSUMING AS ALL HELL but it was fun 😀 

I kind of dipped a little into what un-spyroized Kurosians would look like in this post a while ago, but I couldn’t resist trying a pre-spyoized char as an original Kuros. Voteil was a fun go! He still looks a bit more cartoony, but he’s still a bab so he’d have those big cute eyes we all love ❤ Though, he probably wouldn’t be very tiny; maybe a size of a regular horse. 

As for an original story, I never really worked one out. There wouldn’t be a purple dragon cuz that’s LoS’s thing. When I think Kurosia, I just think of the world, the culture, I haven’t taken the time to really make original Kurosia it’s own solid thing. But I am getting closer to that, as so much of the Spyro/Skylanders canon lore is less and less appealing to me. Weirdlanders is what Kurosia would be like thrusted into the Skylander world, changing a lot of the canon so things would be more seamless, but that is proving harder to do.

But if I did a story, I think Feuriah would still be in it, her story being fairly the same. Voteil would play a big part too, and I’d like for there to be a Cynder, but of course she is a copyrighted character and would have to be changed. I think it would be about the Fall of Kurosia, and the journey it would take to rebuild it. How losing control of evils and darkness weighs the entire world down, effecting all beings and creatures. Feuriah’s grief and need for revenge would possibly make her an untamed villain making things worse, and it’s up to ‘Cynder’ and a band of other creatures to make it to Kurosia, wake the Gods, and bring back the Kuros.

Are there any base-line personality traits of each breed of Kuros we could use to reference when making our own ?

Well, each Kuros has the ability to have whatever personality out there, so a lot of these would be more like, stereotypes rather than solid truths. BUT here!

Fiosioc – fluffy, cute, all bark but no bite
Allus – reproduce like bunnies
Shire – stuck up and a little too proud of themselves
Yinvaht – sly, sexy, wise
Craolig – goofy looking AF, but super smart and hold grudges for hundreds of years
Brokt – giant meatheads, but incredibly strong, no need for smarts when you can bring down a wall with a headbutt. The “bro” breed
