If you don’t mind answering, what are the remaining ideas from FD that are still canon within this verse? (btw, Cherry Bomb is awesome and don’t feel disheartened about her sharing a similar design with another character! You designed her before you knew, you weren’t to know there was a similar character out there beforehand.)

OOC : It’s fairly vague, but the re-writes all up to Feuriah’s trail is canon even in the FD verse. I’d really like to rewrite everything that happens before Feuriah hatches, I’m no longer happy with most of it, but what happens from her hatching to her trail is canon.

When she’s born, the Guardians want to put her down, but the children of Warfang protect her. Ignitus is then the core parental guardian for her, though for four years Volga reluctantly takes her in. When she’s old enough to wonder around, she ends up living in Twilight Falls to avoid bullying. Ignitus and a few others come to visit her and play, but eventually a specific group of bullies continues to follow her in the forest. Ignitus is often there to protect her, but one day he wasn’t there, and that is when everything in this post happens

Everything after that post is different, but so far, all the above is what’s canon in FD ^u^

Also, thank you so much, a handful of my friends agree with you, but at the same time, it’s hard to draw her now that I’m more aware of the other character. I haven’t completely scrapped Cherry though, maybe one day I’ll get over my hang-ups. Thank you ❤

I have another question for Mod: what are the limits of the secondary colour a kuros can have? as well as, what colours were the most common and for what breed of kuros?

OOC : The signature of a Kuros is the black scales and metal horns. While splotches of color were common, like secondary colors, as long as the prominent color of the scales were black, twas fine. Breeds could have any secondary colors, though Fuchsia/purples were the most uncommon.

OOC: Hey mod, can I try to make a kuros breed? Just as practice? I have a really, really cool idea for a kuros character, but he’s so different that he doesn’t really look like the other breeds you and your friends made. Please? I really wanna make him, but I completely understand if you don’t want me to draw a different breed than the ones you have. ^^;

OOC : Go right on ahead yo! I’d love to see what people could come up with, even if it’s a new breed they came up with themselves!

Could their be different species of Kuros? Like for example, a wolf with the color and Kuronium or possibly a Phoenix? If so I would really like to see them because the Kuros to me, is such a superior breed! :D

Lost Queen : As they should! My people were the most superior of all evil dragons afterall~

I’ve mentioned it before, but quite honestly, that could be a possibility. Mind you, breeding with other species was rarely permitted. If it happened at all, it was through marriage contracts with allies to provide a physical representation of our alliance by allowing other evil species breed with our own. Those marriages ONLY happened among high ranking Kuros, such as Warlords, Royal Scribes & Generals, etc.

This had mixed results. Most Kuros couldn’t breed with other species; they had more of a chance of producing offspring if they were another breed of dragon. Some Kuros were more fertile than others, and were able to provide cross-species offspring, but it was rare. Most believed that if the Gods were pleased by the alliance, they would show that by allowing a Kuros to cross-breed (if breeding was required for full alliance agreements).

In my opinion, I didn’t believe that. I loved my Gods, but I firmly believed Kuros could only breed with other dragons, if that. I realized it happened, albeit rarely, as like I said some were able somehow, but I thought it was by chance rather than proof of our Gods approving of a marriage alliance.

So, imagine my surprise when I fell pregnant with Havok. After I had not one hybrid offspring, but two, I think that cross-breeding was more of a possibility than I once believed. I still don’t think it’s a God’s blessing, afterall our Gods still sleep, but if a Kuros could breed with a human, anything is possible.

this is a question for Mun: have you ever thought about making Kuros adoptables or custom designs for them? I love love LOVE your species >w< black, silver and a splash of other colours are wicked, but some people might have design-block or something

OOC : oooh, honestly I never even thought of doing Kuros adoptables. My friends do the adoptable thing but I haven’t done them myself O-O

What do yall think?

when you make OCs, and later find out they look kinda like characters from an existing series

When you write/think their stories and  later find out they are very similar like characters from an existing series.

yes…

It’s discouraging, yes, but still, please don’t feel like you need to scrap your ideas and OCs.

Because, uh… I forget who said it, and the exact quite, but it was something like… “you have your own unique vision and way of telling the story that only you can tell.”

(… I think it was Neil Gaiman, but I could be wrong.)

OOC : Oh god this has happened to me so many times, I do use inspirations which I happily reference, but I think the best example of this happening to me was with Cherry Bomb.

I adore geisha so much, my favorite book of all time is an autobiography called “Geisha : A Life” (who Cherry Bomb’s last name is a reference to). I spent almost all of my college education learning as much as I could about Japanese art & culture, even going as far as attempting to learn japanese (and failing horribly). After seeing some tumblr posts about maple moths, I combined the two into Cherry Bomb.

Sadly, soon after making her I discovered an AMAZING, mind-blowing artist by the name of White-Mantis who had a mantis geisha character with a very similar appearance. Of course the second I found out, while blown away by this artists’ style, I was incredibly crushed and discouraged to ever draw Cherry again (which is why she hasn’t appeared on the blog for a while). While it was completely innocent and not done on purpose, I couldn’t and still can’t bring myself to draw her after finding White-Mantis.

So I feel dis post. So many feels ;3;

Also the last gif is pretty much like Headshot and Knightmare x,D

The struggle of when you’d really like to make a kuros OC but are afraid it isn’t good enough/you’ll get some information wrong

OOC : Oh noes! Don’t be afraid hon, I absolutely LOVE fankuros, each one makes me get the biggest, goofiest smile. I try to have them be as customizable as possible, while still keeping them a unique species. I have no problems giving WIP advice if you’re nervous at all, I’d be stoked to help!
