Lost Queen : We are the apex evil dragons, but we were always hunted. Evil has to be fought, it is our place, so we have to be hard to kill. Even as eggs.
((Alright. It’s actually really interesting hearing about the development of Feuriah and the different versions of her world.))
OOC : Thank you! A lot of how I develop things is that they do change over time, even with this blog, because I’m learning more and more about character development as I even learn about the characters themselves.
I made FD during the whole four years I was in college, I even took a comic class and lots of other courses to teach me about designing character’s looks, about inspiration, storytelling, how to set up scenes, etc. And of course, I’m still learning even after I graduated ^u^ I still have a LOT to learn about it, just like how I have a LOT more to learn about art in general. So thank you very, very much!
((Question about Feur’s egg. You said Kuros eggs are harder to break, but hers cracked from a relatively short drop. Is this because it was purple or because she was ready to hatch?))
OOC : A loooot of rewrites have happened since FD was made, and heck even the course of FD there are things that change in the plot. One of the reasons why I didn’t like working on the comic anymore. It was mostly an experimental comic that turned more serious than expected near the end. There are still canon ideas about the comic of FD, but a few points of it aren’t relative anymore. My apologies if that does confuse people If I had the time and patience, I’d really like to just re-do all of FD, buuuuuut it’s a bit hard to explain my feelings about FD now.
I would say that the egg cracked as it was close to hatching~ ^u^
Lost Queen : Kurosian Eggs are quite different than regular dragon eggs. They are known to have a very hard shell, able to survive relatively high drops without damage to the shell or infant inside, as well as survive some heavy blows from say a sword or an axe; but can be shattered with enough force. They are by no means indestructible, they’re simply harder to break. Having such a hard shell does make it difficult for the baby to hatch out, but infant kuronium is able to help them out if they have the strength.
The insides of the eggs are filled with a special mixture of nutritious liquids to help the baby kuros’s metal harden before hatching. However, if the egg liquids were consumed by a non-Kuros, the mixture that helps harden the kuronium is highly poisonous to most other species (except Uka and predators adapted to hunting and eating Kuros). The same components are also found in adult Kurosian bone marrow, again making consuming us a very, very bad idea.
Darkness is also within the egg mixture for the baby Kuros to consume to ensure it is born with some form of dark ability. The very darkness that makes up our Veil, leading many to believe that when we are born, we are given darkness, and when we die, we return with it to the Veil.
I have never seen a non-black Kurosian egg. They are all born with a black shell, and if they do have hints of color, it’s usually what the baby’s secondary color will be. Or eye color, or element. It can be hard to tell, but the main shell is some form of dark grey, or black.
Of course, my own egg was not. It was a fuchsia color, with speckles of dark and bright purples. Which led Warfang to believe that my egg was that of the Purple Dragons of legend. Looking back, if it hadn’t been those colors, I very well would have been crushed on site, or left in the wilds. I tried to figure out why my egg was so different, it wasn’t heard of among the Kuros before, but in the end I decided to let it go as it was an issue that I felt would never be answered. Nor was it important enough. It saved me from death before hatching, that’s mainly it.
I know I’m probably asking the dumbest question ever here but… what theme are you (and pretty much every other ask blogs) using ? I know it should be pretty obvious but I just can’t seem to find which one it is :(
OOC : Aw don’t worry! I originally had to ask the Ask-Whirlroaster blog when I started up what theme she used too, it’s a pretty awesome theme! It’s called “redux” ^u^ here’s a link!
could we also have an OOC tag please? a place for all our questions that are directed and answered by you?
OOC : Yup there be! I need to go back a wee bit to re-tag some of them, but there is a tag for me ^u^ quite a few, usually “ooc” “mod” “mun” “weird hyenas” “weird”, etc.
waaaaiiiitttttt so if havok hates spirits when why does he like the grim daughter or does he know 8Y
Havok : I never said I hated them, they just make me uneasy. Most, anyway. Whisper’s too cute to be uneasy around, I mean, just look at her.
Did the king and queen mourn their son, Kruta, after his passing?
Lost Queen : Mourning is a bit… different, for us Kuros. It’s almost seen as disrespectful to the dead to cry over them too much. I know Athrenna was especially torn when Kruta was killed, King and Queens are not suppost to cry at the funeral ceremonies, but I remember hearing her voice falter for the first time. They had lost many of their children, unfortunately, that is simply Kurosian life. Burdohk was more upset that Kruta had died in his first real battle; I assume he was disappointed in Kruta.
I wasn’t that close with the King or Queen at that time; I was just enrolled into military and still in college, it would take decades longer before I was Athrenna’s guard. So I can’t say for sure. When I did become Athrenna’s guard, neither she or myself brought him up.
After Bhailiu takes kurosian souls to the Veil of Darkness are they still active? I mean do they watch or talk to the ones who are passing the Veil? Or are they silent? Sleeping?
Lost Queen : That’s actually fairly up for debate, or was among my people. A lot of Kuros had their own opinions of where souls went after they were given to the Veil, but most believed that their essence was returned to the Darkness, as when we are born our eggs contain the Darkness we need to be Kuros. We are given Darkness, and when we die, we return it. Many believed that the Darkness was made of Kurosian souls, and that all Darkness is us, while some think that there is a sort of “Valhalla” that Bhailiu takes us to after we die. Nobody knows for sure, our Gods spoke to us, but did not give us all the answers.
The Veil, when one walks through it, can hear voices. That leads many to think that the Veil is made of Kurosian souls. But we cannot communicate with them, and not every Kuros and hear the voices in the Veil. I myself used to hear voices, and do from time to time, but for me the Veil sort of… sounds like the ocean to me. Havok apparently hears voices more than I do; he doesn’t like it.
What are the three scale-like things on the top finger of your wings?
Lost Queen : Just barbs, like how some dragons will have barbs on their eyebrows, heels, elbows, etc. Mine are just on my wings~
